PFAS and Turf

The British newspaper the Guardian had a recent article about research of PFAS, an ingredient and class of chemicals to be used in the controversial proposed synthetic turf at the high school. Stockholm University released a study about PFAS, calling them “forever chemicals” because of their longevity in the environment.

The study noted that they do not naturally break down and they are linked to cancer, kidney disease, birth defects, decreased immunity, liver problems, and a range of other serious diseases.

Artificial turf with PFAS, a bad idea.
