Hospital To Offer Moderna, J&J Booster Shots

Martha’s Vineyard Hospital will begin taking appointments for booster doses of the Moderna and J&J vaccines for eligible individuals starting at 4 p.m. Friday.

Martha’s Vineyard Hospital has announced it will begin taking appointments for booster doses of the Moderna and Johnson & Johnson Covid-19 vaccines for eligible individuals starting at 4 p.m. Friday.

The hospital had previously offered only booster shots of the Pfizer vaccine.

In an email, a hospital spokeswoman said 616 new booster appointments for any of the three vaccine brands would be available through the online scheduling platform at covidvaccine.massgeneralbrigham.org.

To be eligible for a Pfizer or Moderna booster dose, you must have received your second dose at least six months ago and either be 65 years of age or older, have a qualifying medical condition or live or work in a high-risk setting. The boosters are only available for people 18 years or older.

To be eligible for a Johnson & Johnson booster dose, you must have received your first dose at least two months ago and be 18 years of age or older.
