Seafood Collaborative Surpasses Funding Goal

Aiming for $500,000, the Martha's Vineyard Sustainable Seafood Collaborative raised $515,000 to bring fish wholesaling back to Menemsha.

The Martha's Vineyard Seafood Collaborative this week announced that its $500,000 fund drive raised $515,000 from 200 donors.

Building repairs and cleanup have already begun at the former Menemsha Fish House, where the collaborative plans to open a wholesale operation this spring.

A program of the Martha's Vineyard Fishermen's Preservation Trust, the seafood collaborative aims to provide a local wholesale market for the Island's small-boat fishermen.
