At their meeting Wednesday, selectmen set Saturday, Nov. 14 as the date for a special town meeting. The meeting will convene at 1 p.m. in the parking lot in front of the town fire station.

The warrant for the meeting is not yet final. Once it is, town administrator Jeffrey Madison will host and a question-and-answer session via Zoom for town voters.

In other business, selectmen approved opening dates for family and commercial scalloping in Menemsha Pond. Family scalloping begins Nov. 1 and the commercial season will begin Nov. 23.

Mr. Madison also reported the restrooms at the Circle will close for the season on Oct. 15. Portable toilets will be available until Nov. 1.
