Yard, Aquinnah CC Get State Arts Grants

The New England Foundation for the Arts has made grants to the Aquinnah Cultural Center and the Yard through the United States Arts Resilience Fund.

The Aquinnah Cultural Center will receive $25,000 and the Yard $30,000 in grant funding from the New England Arts Resilience Fund, part of the United States Arts Resilience Fund, according to an announcement from the New England Arts Foundation.

The Island grants are part of more than $1.8 million distributed to 71 arts and culture nonprofits in New England.

Funded nationally by $10 million from the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation and augmented in New England by CARES Act funding, the arts resilience fund is intended to support cultural nonprofits that are suffering financially due to the Covid-19 pandemic, according to the announcement.
