The 151-foot vessel GO Liberty is conducting a geophysical survey of the near-shore waters east and south of Martha's Vineyard for Mayflower Wind, a wind energy project to be sited near the Vineyard Wind facility planned for south of the Vineyard and Nantucket.

The survey began in late April and includes both the GO Liberty, which is assessing the cable route, and 230-foot Kommander Iona, which is surveying the lease area and deep water export cable area, according to a presentation to Tisbury selectmen by Mayflower Wind representatives last month.
