Dr. Ruth will be live at the MVFF screening of Ask Dr. Ruth on Saturday, August 31.

First Lady of Sex Is in the House

Dr. Ruth is 90 years old. That’s a whole lot of years of talking about sex.

Dr. Ruth is 90 years old. That’s a whole lot of years of talking about sex. But the sex therapist is still going strong and she will be on the Vineyard this weekend, available for dinner, a movie or both.

This is not the time for excuses, like you have a headache or just don’t feel like it. Dr. Ruth will be on-Island thanks to the folks at the Martha’s Vineyard Film Festival, which is screening the documentary Ask Dr. Ruth on Saturday, August 31 at 8 p.m. at the Performing Arts Center. They are also hosting a dinner with Dr. Ruth at 5 p.m.

The documentary spans Dr. Ruth’s life from her childhood as an orphan of the Holocaust to her fame as a radio sex therapist, beginning in 1980 with the radio show Sexually Speaking, which continued until 1990. She became a household name with appearances on The Tonight Show, David Letterman, Conan O’Brien and Hollywood Squares, to name just a few, and her own television show.

On Saturday, come see what she’s been up to lately.
