Boys and Girls Tennis, Girls Lacrosse Advance in Playoffs

Girls lacrosse heads to the quarterfinals of the south sectional tournament with a 15-3 win over Fontbonne, and boys tennis is in the semifinals after defeating Maimonides 4-1.

The high school sports teams continued to do well in the playoffs, with two more teams advancing in the south sectional tournament on Thursday.

The girls lacrosse team dominated Fontbonne 15-3 in a game that saw the players referencing recently suspended coaches Kurstin Moore and Bob Hayman by writing K-B in marker on their biceps. Seniors Addy Hayman and Alexis Condon led the squad with an impressive four goals each.

The Vineyarders play Archbishop Williams in the quarterfinals at home on Saturday at noon.

Boys tennis continued to dominate their opponents, winning 4-1 against Maimonides to advance to the semifinals. The team hosts the winner of Old Rochester or Cohasset on Tuesday at 4 p.m.

The boys baseball season came to an end Thursday with a 7-0 loss to East Bridgewater.

The girls tennis team earned a trip to the semifinals earlier in the week and plays Old Rochester on its home turf Monday at 4 p.m.
