The African-American Heritage Trail of Martha’s Vineyard will dedicate a plaque honoring Judge Herbert E. Tucker Jr., at 3 p.m. on Saturday, July 21 at the Edgartown courthouse followed by a reception on the lawn at the Martha’s Vineyard Museum.

Judge Tucker was a civic leader, ambassador, activist and presiding court judge in the Edgartown district court from 1979 to 1985.
