The Island Housing Trust was recently named to receive $150,000 in tax credits from the from the state community investment tax credit program.

The credits are aimed at furthering the production of affordable housing on the Vineyard.

Last week the office of Lieut. Gov. Karyn Polito announced that $5.9 million would go to 46 community development corporations throughout the commonwealth.

The tax credits are a tool to encourage private investment, the lieutenant governor said.
