The Tango Dancers, a new cast stainless steel sculpture by Chilmark artist Jay Lagemann, has found a new home among the collection of dancing figures in the Field Gallery Sculpture Garden in West Tisbury.

Mr. Lagemann is also creator of the Swordfish Harpooner sculpture in Menemsha. Tom Maley, who created the well-known dancing ladies at the Field Gallery sculpture garden, was one of Mr. Lagemann’s major influences.

The Tango Dancers joins Mr. Lagemann’s other sculptures, the Matisse-inspired The Dance and Swinging Jenny. He is working on a new work, the Jitterbug Dancers, which may join them next summer.
