Dr. David A. Halsey was named first vice president of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons at the academy’s annual meeting last month in San Diego, Calif.

Dr. Halsey is a full time orthopedic surgeon at the Martha’s Vineyard Hospital and professor at the University of Vermont College of Medicine. He previously had a small private practice for 18 years in the Upper Valley region of New Hampshire and Vermont.
