The Black Dog Store in Edgartown, in partnership with Angels Helping Animals, will be holding a dog adoption day on Saturday, March 26 from noon to 4 p.m.
Adoptable dogs will be on hand, as will Angels Helping Animals founder Leslie Hurd, who will share her experiences in saving many rescue animals.
The Black Dog will donate 20 per cent of all dog product sales during the month of March as well as a portion of total store sales on March 26 to Ms. Hurd’s organization as well as other partnering shelters and agencies. Families that adopt on that day will also receive a gift bag full of dog items for their new family member.
For more information, contact a local Black Dog location or visit the Black Dog website: theblackdog.com/events.

While it gives a great
Really!!! West TisburyWhile it gives a great feeling that these animals are being rescued from very horrifying conditions, however, bringing animal to the island instead of adopting from our local shelter is not the way to go. I would like to know how many animals brought to the island by non-island rescues then end up being cared for by our island shelter.
