Martha’s Vineyard Regional High School students had a musical day on the town last week with a trip to an open rehearsal of the Boston Symphony Orchestra at Symphony Hall. Twenty-nine students, a cross section from band, orchestra, chorus and theory classes, made the trip along with five chaperones. Muisc department chairman Janis Wightman said a highlight of the day was getting to say hello to conductor/violinist Pinchas Zukerman, who was dropped off by his limo as the students got off their own limo, which looked a lot like a big yellow school bus.
