Sunday’s annual Falmouth Road Race will close part of Woods Hole Road Sunday morning, impacting traffic for those traveling to and from the Woods Hole Steamship Authority terminal.

Woods Hole Road will be closed from about 8:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. on Sunday, August 16, the Steamship Authority said in an alert this week.

Travel delays can also be expected on Woods Hole Road and Palmer avenue throughout the day, the Steamship Authority said, and travelers should plan accordingly.

More than 12,000 runners participate in the seven-mile annual race, including elite runners.
