John Early is being honored for his service to the community on Sunday, Dec. 28, at the West Tisbury library at 2 p.m. He’ll be awarded this year’s Spirit of the Vineyard Award by Hospice of Martha’s Vineyard.

Mr. Early has served the Island community through volunteer firefighting, the Martha’s Vineyard Commission, Island Elderly Housing and Vineyard House, among others. The event is free and open to everyone.
