Middletown Nursery is hosting a series of Saturday afternoon lectures on growing backyard gardens. The series will run from 1 to 2 p.m. on Saturdays through June 14 at the nursery on State Road in West Tisbury.

Topics cover how to grow vegetables, herbs and fruits organically and how to maintain your garden throughout the seasons. The lectures are free, but donations to support Island Grown Schools will be accepted. For more information, call 508-696-7600.
