In case you happened to miss the farmers’ market and are still craving fresh and local food, Whippoorwill Farm is offering a special sale on the alternating Saturdays opposite the farmers’ market dates. That means beginning this Saturday, Oct. 19, you can get a bagful of at least 12 pounds of fresh winter vegetables for $25. A variety that includes kale, winter squash, carrots, potatoes, peppers, cabbage and more will be available. Locally raised and pastured chickens will also be for sale.
