Searching for Ruthven Todd

Editors, Vineyard Gazette:

I am currently carrying out research for a biography of the Scottish-American poet and writer Ruthven Todd who lived on Martha’s Vineyard during the second half of the 1950s. He lived with his wife Jody at The Adams Place in North Tisbury until they separated in 1956, and then Ruthven lived first in the ‘Chicken Coop’ on Everett Whiting’s land, and then at a house on Music street in West Tisbury. He did carpentry work, was a member of the volunteer fire service and did many beautiful drawings of the flora of the Vineyard. All in all, he had many friends on the Vineyard and this letter is by way of an appeal to your readers for anyone to contact me who has information, recollections, photographs or the like relating to Ruthven.

I can be contacted by email at [email protected], or by letter to: Peter Main, 46 Belvedere Road, Upper Norwood, London, SE19 2HW, England.
