Pulitzer-prize winning author Tony Horwitz headlines the Speakeasy Series of author talks this Tuesday, Nov. 29, at State Road Restaurant in West Tisbury. The event begins at 5:30 p.m. and is in collaboration with the West Tisbury Library Foundation, Inc., to benefit the library’s capital campaign.

Mr. Horwitz’s just-released book Midnight Rising is a part-narrative, part-biographical account of John Brown’s raid on Harpers Ferry. The New York Times Book Review wrote that “It’s impossible to read this fine book without thinking about modern-day Browns.”

The cost is $125 per person and hors d’oeuvres and light refreshments will be served.
