The event is a fundraiser for the Martha&#8217;s Vineyard Preservation Trust and the Martha&#8217;s Vineyard Museum.</p>

Celebrate the Sea, Its Keepers and Songs

On Thursday night, Mark Alan Lovewell, a singer, storyteller and Vineyard Gazette reporter and photographer, will give a program called Celebration of the Sea, at the Old Whaling Church in Edgartown. The event is a fundraiser for the Martha’s Vineyard Preservation Trust and the Martha’s Vineyard Museum.

The evening begins at 5:30 p.m. with a free public reception with Island organizations committed to preserving and protecting Island waters, including Felix Neck Wildlife Sanctuary, the Martha’s Vineyard Shellfish Group, the Wampanoag Tribe of Gay Head (Aquinnah), and Tisbury Waterways Inc. There will be displays, brochures and pamphlets.

At 7 p.m., Mr. Lovewell will perform a program for all ages.

Admission to the 7 p.m. concert is $15 for adults, $10 for children and seniors. For more information, call the museum at 508-627-4441.
