Charlie and MacKenna

The first babies were born in the maternity unit at the new Martha’s Vineyard Hospital last week: first a boy and then a girl.

Gretta Gonzalez and Mario Arellano welcomed Charlie into the world at 9:05 p.m. on Wednesday, June 23. Charlie weighed three pounds, six ounces at birth, and joins big brother Mario Jr.

The next day, June 24, a girl, MacKenna Rose, was born to Allyson and Chad Metell of Oak Bluffs at 8:23 p.m. MacKenna weighed six pounds, three ounces at birth; she joins big sister Annabelle and big brother Maximus.
